Become a Tutor
Becoming a Tutor is easy. here’s how it works:
Contact our Chairperson or any member of our Committee and register your interest.
You’ll attend class sessions and, initially, all you need to do is lurk in a corner and watch. When you’ve seen what’s going on and you are sufficiently confident, you can start joining in and helping students during a session. This is basically what an Assistant Tutor does, so it won’t be long before you can enjoy being useful to others. All this is done under the friendly eye of an experienced Tutor.
Once you know the ropes and have done some assisting, its an easy move up to fully fledged Tutor if that’s what you would like to do. Tutoring and assisting can be fun, and you learn a lot about teaching. You only need to be one step ahead of the class, you will be surprised at how much you already know.
If you do offer to help in the classroom, any other courses you would like to do at SeniorNet will be free.
